Sketch book or boards

Hi everyone!

Im doing Edexcel As art and my teachers have given us a choice between working in the regular a3 sketchbook or on boards(ie the same kind of double pages but on separate sheets so it can be presented more visually in our end of year exhibition). I really want to find a balance between the two, having all my artwork on boards(will be workimg quite big I imagine as I'm heading more abstract) and then a smaller sketch book for all my photos, annotation, notes etc. My teacher has kind of said this is OK but we didnt really get a propper chance to talk about how it would work. Does this sound like it would work? Or would it be better to just have a collection of papers to bind at the end of the course? Or should I still be doing a large sketchbook, though I worry it will look rather empty? Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can balance between the two? I'd usually talk it over with my teachers but its the Holliday's at the moment and I need to start working before we go back.

Thank you!

Kelly
